Our 28th annual tournament is now only weeks away. We hope you’re all well on your way with organizing your teams and boats.

We’ve listed a few things below for you to make note of before the tournament.

  • This year we have Channel Ten filming the entire tournament weekend to produce a one hour documentary on Ribbons to be aired nationally and potentially internationally in 2012! Get excited! Be sure to get your boats and selves decorated for the sailpast! You can expect to see the film crew at all events over the weekend, including the briefing on Friday night, the Saturday morning sailpast and weigh in as well as the presentation dinner on Sunday nite. Two film crews will also go out on boats with two teams to capture any fishing action throughout the day. A cameraman will also be whizzing around in a helicopter throughout the days fishing checking out any fishing action from any and all of our boats and anglers. This is great exposure for our tournament, particularly in the build up to our 30th tournament in 2013!

A photo consent disclaimer will be included with your nomination to enter the tournament. For any junior anglers under 16 years old, we will be seeking additional consent from parents/guardians.

  • Small boats be aware that this year we have changed our 7 metres and under category to 8 metres and under.
  • Women's Tournament Shirts this year are a smaller cut / make than years past. To cater for this the committee have moved our orders up one size each to ensure a good fit. Therefore when ordering your T-Shirts please ensure your order one size up from your normal fit eg if you usually order a size 10, order a size 12 on your nomination form this year. Note that mens sizes have not been affected, only womens.
  • Tags – if any teams require tags, please contact Secretary, Donna Burns prior to the tournament weekend, so she can ensure we have sufficient stocks to cater for everyone’s needs. Donna’s contact phone number is listed on the Tournament brochure.
  • Membership forms – if memberships are paid up before the tournament weekend it makes for much smoother sailing at the briefing nite. You can obtain a membership form from our website at www.ribbons.org.au . Also, early postal nominations are greatly appreciated!
  • Briefing Nite this year will be held in the same spot as last year with Ribbons providing a BBQ dinner for all attendees and complimentary arrival champagne for lady anglers. The Salthouse will be running the bar for the evening.
  • For those teams who wish to pay on the briefing nite, please organize to have one payment per team and have the correct money where possible. We can accept cash, cheque or money order only, no credit card or EFTPOS facilities will be available.

Thanks, we look forward to seeing you in December!
